Currently he also serves as Director of the Sheng Yen Center for Chinese Buddhist Studies. Since 2007, he has been supervising several research projects: "Buddhist Epistemology and Indian Buddhist Thought in 6th-7th Century China", "Dharmapāla and the Cheng weishi baosheng lun (*Vijñapti-mātratā-siddhi-ratnasaṁbhava)," "Exploring Buddhism in Early Modern East Asia through Manuscripts and Rare Copies" and "Revisiting the Alleged Debate between Dharmapāla and Bhāviveka." He is the author of three books and two edited volumes.
