bio | Myoren has studied religions and philosophies from around the world from an early age. But it was not until he began studying Martial Arts that he became interested in Buddhism. He is co-founder of Chinsei Hikari Bukkyo Kai, an organization based on Tendai Buddhism, whose mission is to bring the teachings of the Buddha to all Spanish-speakers of the Caribbean and Latin America. He is also the founder and leader of the Sangha of the Tendai Temple of Puerto Rico.
He graduated with a Bachelor's Degree (BA) in Journalism and Psychology (with a minor in Advertising) from the Universidad del Sagrado Corazón; a Juris Doctor (JD) from the Inter-American University of Puerto Rico; a Master's Degree (MA) in Comparative Theology; a Diploma in Chaplaincy and Ministerial Counseling; and a Doctoral degree (Th.D.) in Theology from the Puerto Rican Theological Seminary. He is also a professional translator. He is currently a lawyer and Buddhist Priest, Interfaith Minister and Master of Martial Arts. He specializes in the teachings of the Lotus Sutra and Pure Land, giving university classes, lectures and talks throughout the Island.
