Biographical Information
Stephen Jenkins, Professor of Religion at Humboldt State University, received his doctorate from Harvard. His research is focused on Buddhist ethics and the origins of Indian pure lands. Most recently, he has done a series of talks arguing for the importance of heavenly attainment in early Indian Buddhist soteriology and the significance of the devalokas as precedents for the pure lands.
