Biographical Information

Michael Griffin is Associate Professor of Classics and Philosophy at the University of British Columbia. His research focuses on Ancient Greek philosophy in late antiquity, particularly philosophical education. He is coeditor, with Richard Sorabji, of the Ancient Commentators on Aristotle project. He is author of Aristotle's Categories in the Early Roman Empire (OUP, 2015) and a two-volume translation of the Neoplatonist Olympiodorus’ introduction to Platonic philosophy, Olympiodorus: On Plato’s Alcibiades (Bloomsbury, 2014 and 2016).
