The first time he arrived to Tsari (Tsa ri) via the gate of Drinthang (mgrin thang). The second time he arrived to Ngari (mnga' ris) through Kashmir (kha che). Interestingly, in a popular Tibetan narrative, people say Padampa lived in Tibet for five hundred years. According to a historical chronicle, his last time in Tibet was in 1113. During that period, he hid various concealed scriptures in a vast field of Kham. The Chöd lineage transmitted from him has been divided into the Father and Mother Lineage, which were succeeded by Mangra Serpo and Machig Labdrön respectively.
