Joanna Macy is a Buddhist scholar, eco-philosopher, writer, teacher, and peaceworker. Her many books include World As Lover, World As Self (Par - allax Press, 1991) and her memoir, Widening Circles (New Society Publishers, 2000). One of the founding members of the Buddhist Peace Fellowship, she has served on its international advisory board for many years. She lives in Berkeley, California, with her husband Fran Macy, near her children and grandchildren.
