| bio | Subhūtiśānti was a translator who rendered works by Ratnākaraśānti (late 10th–mid-11th century) of Vikramaśīla Monastery from Sanskrit into Tibetan. He is credited, together with the Tibetan translator Śākya blo gros, with translating Ratnākaraśānti's Āryāṣṭasāhasrikāprajñāpāramitāpañjikāsārottamā (A Commentary on the Difficult Points of "The Perfection of Wisdom in Eight Thousand Lines"), preserved in the Derge Tengyur (D 3803) and the Peking Tengyur (P 5200, vol. 92). He is also credited, together with Śākya blo gros and Dge ba'i blo gros, with translating Ratnākaraśānti's Abhisamayālaṃkāraśuddhamatī. |
