had once been the private villa of Emperor Xuanwudi (r. 499-515) of the Northern Wei dynasty. Seng Chou's meditation accomplishments were legendary and he had a profound influence on Chinese Buddhist history as a whole. He was a disciple of Buddhabhadra. |
