bio	Sūryasiddhi (Tib. slob dpon nyi ma grub, "Ācārya Nyima Drup") was an Indian paṇḍita. His name as it appears in the Tibetan textual tradition is nyi ma grub; "Sūryasiddhi" is a reconstructed Sanskrit form (marked with an asterisk in BDRC's record, indicating it is not directly attested but inferred from the Tibetan). Almost nothing biographical is recorded about him—no dates, place of origin, or teacher lineage are known. He is credited as the author of a single known work: a subcommentary titled Daśabhūmi­vyākhyāna­vyākhyāna, Tib. Sa bcu'i rnam par bshad pa'i rnam par bshad pa ("Explanation of the Explanation of the Ten [Bodhisattva] Bhūmis"), i.e., a commentary on a commentary on the Daśabhūmikasūtra. This text survives in multiple Tengyur editions, suggesting it was a fairly standard and widely transmitted part of the canon's commentarial corpus, even though its author remains otherwise obscure.
