| bio | Seiren Matsunami (1903–1979) was a Japanese Buddhist scholar and Sanskrit philologist. His most significant contribution to the field was A Catalogue of the Sanskrit Manuscripts in the Tokyo University Library, published by the Suzuki Research Foundation, Tokyo, in 1965, a standard reference work in Buddhist Sanskrit manuscript studies that continues to be widely cited. He also published on Buddhist sūtra texts in the Taishō Daigaku Kenkyū Kiyō, including an edition of portions of the Samādhirājasūtra (1975). |
