bio	Melissa Anne-Marie Curley is Assistant Professor of Japanese religions at the University of Iowa. Her research focuses on modern Japanese Buddhism, particularly Pure Land. She has recently contributed to Ugo Dessi's The Social Dimension of Shin Buddhism, and the forthcoming Blackwell Companion to Buddhism, edited by Mario Poceski and Michael Zimmerman.
