| bio | Śākyabuddhi (also Śākyamati; Tib. ShAkya'i blo, also Gnas brtan ShAkya'i blo, "the Elder Śākyabuddhi," and Slob dpon shAkya'i blo) was an Indian scholar whose works are preserved in the Tengyur. BDRC places his activity between 800 and 999.
Three works in the Tengyur are attributed to him: the Pramāṇavārttikaṭīkā (Tib. Tshad ma rnam 'grel gyi 'grel bshad, Toh 4220), a commentary on Dharmakīrti's Pramāṇavārttika, translated into Tibetan by Subhūtiśrīśānti and Rma dge ba'i blo gros; an explanation of the Gayāśīrṣasūtra interwoven with Vasubandhu's commentary (Toh 3992); and the Daśabhūmisūtranidānabhāṣya (Tib. 'Phags pa sa bcu'i mdo sde'i gleng gzhi bshad pa, Toh 3999), an explanation of the introduction (nidāna) to the Daśabhūmikasūtra. (Sources: 84000; BDRC) |
