Biographical Information

Dr. Hiromi Habata is a researcher in Indology at the Institute of Indology and Tibetology at Ludwig-Maximilians University in Munich. Her main areas of focus in research and teaching include: Buddhist hybrid Sanskrit, Buddhist Sanskrit manuscripts from Central Asia, Mahāparinirvāṇasūtras, especially that of the Mahāyāna version, the early development of Mahāyānist thought in India, and methods of translating Buddhist canonical literature into Chinese and Tibetan.
