| bio | Professor Hsiung Ping-chen received her Ph.D. in History from Brown University and her S.M. in Population Studies and International Health from Harvard University. She is Professor of History and Director of the Taiwan Research Centre at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Her main research interest lies in the area of women’s and children’s health. Her works included A Tender Voyage: Children and Childhood in Late Imperial China, Childhood in the Past: A History of Chinese Children and Ill or Well: Diseases and Health of Young Children in Late Imperial China.
