Biographical Information
Mark Edward Lewis, who received his doctorate from the University of Chicago in 1985, is currently university lecturer in Chinese Studies at Cambridge University. He is the author of Sanctioned Violence in Early China and is currently researching the origins in China of the idea of the “classic” (ching) and its impact on the theories of writing and genre.
