bio Pao-yün (Baoyun 376?–449) was a translator of Buddhist texts into Chinese. Pao-yün had a reputation for being accomplished in study and practice and the Sanskrit language. He was a contemporary of Fa-hsien and Chih-yen, with whom he traveled, visiting various religious sites. He later became a follower of Buddhabhadra. The two collaborated on translation projects.
