Karin Preisendanz (born January 6, 1958 in Heidelberg) is a German Indologist. In 1985 she received the Dr. Phil. at the University of Hamburg and in 1995 the habilitation and the venia legendi in Hamburg. From 1986 to 1987 she was a research assistant at Albrecht Wezler and from 1987 to 1990 at the Institute for Indian Philology and Art History at the Free University of Berlin.
