I graduated from Florida International University with an M.A in Religious Studies under the guidance of Dr. Nathan Katz. the focus of my thesis was the transformation and transmission of Tibetan Buddhism to the West. you can find a copy of my thesis at the following link http://digitalcommons.fiu.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=1934&context=etd
As you can see the topic of this conference is very close and dear to me, and it is a topic that I seek to develop further knowledge of in the future. attending this conference would be a great opportunity to meet important people who are key figures in this field of study.
As a practitioner, I have been practicing the dharma for over 8 years now. I started practicing Theravada buddhism at a Thai monastery in Miami. Later on I started practicing Tibetan Buddhism under the guidance of Lama Norlha RInpoche. now I find myself living at a tibetan buddhist Dharma retreat and teaching center in the smokey mountains in TN. I am an active practitioner here as well as a director of events and in general a volunteer.
